It looks like we have a little bit of a turnaround in the market. Sales were up in Longview and Kilgore in July, compared to a year ago. Prices have dropped a little so that may be one of the deciding factors for buyers that have been waiting. As a member of the Longview Area Association of Realtors, we have access to statistics prepared by the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University. This information is available by cities, school districts, counties or just about any way you would like the information defined. Today I am providing the snapshots of the cities of Longview, Hallsville and Kilgore. You can see that both Longview and Hallsville’s market is being driven by the sales of homes between $100,000 and #200,000 with Kilgore’s market depending largely on the home sales below $100,000 but a fair amount of sales between $100,000 and $200,000. Medium prices are down across the board but there is a lot of inventory available. This should be encouraging to buyers.
